“Owning a company can be so cool sometimes- making your own schedule and hours, hiring people you want to work with, just saying "I own a business" when someone asks "What do you do?"...but most of the time it is really tough!  Long hours, stressors that never end, and the constant many facets to keep it thriving- it can feel really overwhelming.  My husband and I started a power washing company about 3 years ago.  Our first year was not great- starting a business right before a world pandemic was not the best luck.  The second year we were growing quickly and it was great, but we didn't earn enough to sustain us during the winter months.  We live in the suburbs of NYC and right near us are some of the most impressive looking homes you'd ever see, so we thought we'd market ourselves as a "white glove" service company to try and catch those big fish.

We decided to get a coach at the beginning of 2023 to help us figure out how to market to that clientele and more importantly, to not be in that dire financial situation again during the winter.  We were motivated and off and running at the start of the year, however, our finances were a disaster.  We had debt piled up from the winter and even though we were hoping for clients, we weren't sure if and how they would come, as we knew practically nothing about budgets and marketing. Coaching put us in a finance program to help us get organized.  Once we were on track to understand the Job Cost Analysis and follow a good plan to market wisely and keep our numbers in order, we were ready for a one-on-one coach. 

We were introduced to Jon only a few months ago and right away we clicked with him.  He understood so much about our struggles without us having to explain a lot.  Jon has a very successful power washing and Christmas Lighting business on the East Coast and he immediately related to our issues with weather and staff.  What we like most about Jon is he not only gives excellent advice, but he treats us as though we are his peers.  We respect him tremendously because of his experience and success, and we feel like he respects us as well on our smaller scale. 

We realized right away that Jon genuinely cares, not only about our business and growth, but about us as people and he often goes above and beyond for us.  He always sends us videos, documents, and even materials he uses for his own business to help us understand something we are discussing in our meetings.  He's patient and a good listener, he keeps us on track so we're not wasting time and he always follows up with us during the week. 

These sessions are extremely valuable to us as business owners, but they are not cheap!  It's actually way more money than we thought it would be and for a small business it was hard to justify that expense at the start, but I can assure you Jon is worth every penny.  We feel like his advice over the past few months has shaved off years of mistakes we could've made and in the long run, SAVED us way more money. 

Jon is an investment, our easiest investment because we have learned and continue to learn so much from him and we are excited for the future with him in our corner.”
